Private Sector Accessibility

People Access helps large businesses address the following issues, effectively and efficiently:

  • Legal assessment
  • Risk mitigation
  • Complex training schedules
  • New hires orientation
  • Business case rationale
  • Corporate Social Responsibility
  • Multiple locations
  • Multi-year strategy
  • Leadership support

Whether they have hundreds of employees or thousands, many businesses do not have the in-house expertise to quickly and effectively implement the many requirements of the AODA Accessibility Standards for Customer Service, Ont. Reg. 429/07. It makes sense to recruit the subject matter experts at People Access to develop the policy and training materials that will give your management confidence when filing their compliance report with the Ontario Government after the deadline of January 1, 2012. If you have not implemented the Standards, your company is now vulnerable and should act right away to avoid penalties.

The People Access consulting process follows these steps:

  1. Call or email one of our customer-service representatives to schedule a phone conversation with the appropriate expert for your industry.
  2. Discuss your needs and concerns by phone to determine next actions.
  3. Schedule an information session for senior leadership, managers, and supervisors as required by law.
  4. Schedule a facilitated workshop session with your team to produce:
    a) An assessment to identify gaps and a strategy to bridge them
    b) A formalized Accessible Customer Service policy and other required documentation
    c) Training plans and customized training content for live or web-based learning
    d) Final Compliance Report

People Access already has the right Accessible Customer Service e-Learning program for you to quickly roll out to your staff in a matter of days. This customized 25-minute on-line course meets all the requirements of the regulation and can be combined with our live training courses for staff that cannot access web-based learning.

Your company may already be well along on the journey to accessibility for people with disabilities, only needing an authoritative third party verification that you are compliant that will provide you with confidence upon filing your report with the government. People Access will provide an opinion of regulatory compliance upon request.

People Access is a division of Excellence Canada, home of the Ontario Accessibility Awards Program of which the Honourable David C. Onley, Lieutenant Governor of Ontario, is the honorary patron. Once you have satisfied the regulatory requirements, we invite you to apply for this award by downloading the application.
